Because he's just hanging out and doing nothing with his life. In the following picture, Plaz is purring up a storm, even though he is too tired to open his eyes. He's had an active morning torturing the halfings. Mark wants him to get a job maybe knocking things over in a store, or greeting tourists when they get off the boats at the harbor. I think at this point those are his only job options, which is not to say he's worthless--just kind of limited in the ways he helps out around the house. He recently broke a little statue of a siamese cat I have which my buddy Ginger gave me. At least he chose a cat. That shows he's got some recognition for his species. He doesn't really damage much in the house except Mark's maps and charts he's working on. I'm surprised he doesn't have a spinal cord injury yet because he has no sense of his body in the world. He is always jamming his head against something that pops out of nowhere like a wall or a chair. Anyway here he is.
Aidan and I made Mark some breakfast burritos this morning. Man that
took awhile. I'm a bad and distracted cook so I had to pull a chair up
in front of the stove in order to force myself to pay attention. I just
sat there for like 30 minutes watching the hash browns cook. It was
grueling. Here's Mark being a dad to the kittens. This is Puppy, my
favorite. There's always one in every litter who steals your heart and
she's this litter's.
and they are HEAVY!!! They are already tipping the scales at 11 ounces.
That seems like a lot to me, since they're only 2 weeks old. Of course
you must remember that they are my first oriental babies. Carmel Corn
is the most tuned in to people kitten so far. After I take them out for
pictures or to love on them, she wobbles back to the front of the nest
as if to scream "Take me out!!" She wants more people time. They're all
pretty danged cute though. Beave is a good but really super-protective
mom, which makes it hard for me to steal them for very long. Still I do
it a couple of times a day.
Wanna see my package? Wink wink.
That's so hot. Wanna go have a get a cup of coffee?
I've always wanted to do a post about things like that that are so hot. I'm always telling my coworker Nick about things like this. About puking on the plane while flying back to Seldovia with our boiler repairman. Or about hiking right after giving birth and having to take a dump all of a sudden on the trail. I mean like right now. And then how Mark and my mom and I had to pass back by that same pile later. I guess I should have tried to get off the actual trail a bit.
My first New Year's Eve with Mark was spent in the mountains at a cute little resort town in a log cabin--barfing from drinking too much potato vodka. For some reason, when they guy you're dating says "Hey. Let's not eat tonight. Let's just drink" it sounds like a great idea. What a good way to not take in extra calories or spend money or really ruin your buzz. Live and learn.
Or not.
That was pretty hot.
So write me what you all think is hot. In the meantime, here's a picture of what Spaz thinks is hot:
