Here's my crazy co-worker Perley. He's being a rooster on the roof right outside my window at work. I like working with him b/c I can make him pose for pictures like this.
And here is a pic of a real bird, a spruce hen, that I saw on the way to work on Friday. I was biking on the back roads, taking my sweet time since it's SUMMER and all, and if you lived here, you'd know how short our summers are and how loooooonnnnnnnnngggggggg the winters are--anyway, saw this lovely girl and started taking pics. The longer I waited, the more babies kept popping out. Spruce hen are not really smart, so they have to have lots of babies. These are the kinds of birds that fake injuries though to lead you away from their chicks. I guess that's pretty smart. But one night when we were going on a walk with Aidan and 2 dogs, a spruce hen decided she would come with us. That's what I mean about not being very smart.
How cute is this? I think Jeanice is looking great here, and Aidan with his black socks--well he looks like an Alaskan in the sun huh? He's a very cautious child really, and here you can see he did not want to take a chance of getting another sun burn. We think Jeanice is trying to make him into a mini-Don.
And this pic is so cool because you can see him being the center of attention: that's Uncle Dick, Aunt Ellen, Aunt Bertie and Grandmother in the back making sure LLF knows it's all about him.
Aidan has been in Dallas Texas this past week, visiting his Grandmother and giant crazy Janes family. Here's a pic we took of him in jail, aka his room, before he left. He'd gotten sunburned on the 4th of July, bad mom. But he looks so cute here, like a ski bum. The jail thing we got going b/c we wanted to keep cats out of his room, and yet still have air circulate. Every night I would kiss him goodnight through the bars of his cell and promise to keep working on getting a good lawyer to spring him.
Little Lord Fauntleroy turns Hannibal Lector.
In addition to touring Dallas and making sure he samples all manner of chicken nuggets, he has also gone to Chicago to meet Grandmother's two sisters, Aunt Bertie--who has a PhD in musicology and is a nun, and Aunt Ellen and Uncle Dick.
My friend Sophie in Vancouver just sent me some pics that her 10 year old buddy Zoe took of Lewis, who is a Fresh Rexes baby. Here he is claiming their new cat bed--a vintage suitcase they picked out for the cats. I think sleeping on a new household item is a great way to make it yours.
Here's another pic Zoe took of Lewis. Sophie wrote that Lewis lets Zoe carry him all over the house, something he really doesn't let Sophie herself do--at least not without protest.
He is SUCH a handsome man. Thank you Sophie!
